If you are new to learning, chances are that you listen to popular music that is on the radio or TV. I challenge you to find new artists every week and learn something from them. It can be a fun fact or a life experience. It doesn’t have to be just guitar or music related things. It can be anything. Once you start learning guitar, you want to listen to GUITAR players. Try to find different guitar players from different genres. Once you find one, watch videos of their live performances! This is HUGE for your learning experience! They become an inspiration and they start shaping a little bit of your unique style. For example, if you listen to Hendrix, do you know who was his guitar hero? What about Santana or Stevie Ray Vaughn? Who did they listen to in order to play that way? The list of guitar players is almost infinite and they all had influences. Who will be your influence?
